After two decades in the making, the Lower Deer Creek Falls Fish Passage Improvement Project replacing the old failing Lower Deer Creek Falls fish ladder is finally complete. The new ladder funnels fish over a waterfall and is bringing threatened spring-run Chinook salmon and other imperiled species back to a key spawning creek. The project is a cooperative effort between the US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, US Bureau of Reclamation, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Northern California Regional Land Trust.
